The Jewish people today incorporates both a sovereign state in the Land of Israel and the most significant and powerful diaspora community in history, and the links between these two Jewish populations are currently becoming increasingly strained. This lecture reviews the relationship between Israel and American Jewry in light of recent data and theory.
