Dr. Johannes Gerster is the representative of the Adenauer Foundation in Israel and, as such, a privileged observer of Middle Eastern developments. He believes that Europeans and Israelis increasingly misunderstand each other: "The reasons are evident. The Israelis perceive themselves rightly as a minority in a large Arab world.
