The Academic Boycott Against Israel and How to Fight It
September 1, 2003 |
Dr. Manfred Gerstenfeld
The first major academic boycott attempt against Israel was initiated last year by British Professors Steven and Hilary Rose, both Jews. They claimed Israeli academics were the only non-European Union member scholars eligible for its grants, and because of Israel's attitude toward the Palestinians, these should be suspended.
Denial of the Holocaust and Immoral Equivalence
August 1, 2003 |
Dr. Deborah E. Lipstadt
In her 1993 book, Denying the Holocaust: The Growing Assault on Truth and Memory, historian Deborah Lipstadt examines Holocaust denial: the myth that the murder of six million Jews by the Nazis never occurred. Once the deniers have absolved the Nazis of this central accusation, their next step is usually to claim that their warfare was similar to that of the Allies.
The UN and the Assault on Israel’s Legitimacy: Implications for the Roadmap
July 15, 2003 |
Prof. Anne Bayefsky
The roadmap has significant roots in the UN, an organization long understood as biased against Israeli interests and Jewish well-being in general. Examples include the work of the UN "Special Committee to Investigate Israeli Practices Affecting the Human Rights of the Palestinian People and Other Arabs of the Occupied Territories," established in 1968, and the UN "Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People," created in 1975.
