Islamic Jihad

Islamic Jihad was formed in the Gaza Strip during the 1970s as a branch of the Egyptian Islamic Jihad Movement. It has been designated as a terrorist group by the United States, Canada, Israel, the European Union, the United Kingdom, Japan and Australia. The organization has claimed responsibility for numerous suicide bombings and the launch of Qassam rockets from the Gaza Strip.
